Divine Emperor of Death



With the Emperor of Death's question falling on the ears of the Ancestors outside like thunder, they suddenly came to a stop over attacking the barrier.

They stared at the Emperor of Death, narrowing their brows at him as though they seemed to be contemplating whether to continue on with their fervor as they came to a stop while a few others held their energies at bay right above their palms and fists or weapons, ready to make the barrier collapse.

"What are you doing!?"

Abruptly, Patriarch Killian Zenflame roared.

"Continue attacking! That brat won't stop at anything. He's an Anarchic Divergent who will always bring ruin! He's trying to fool you into thinking he will stop so that this barrier doesn't break!"

He pointed at Davis, waving his hand as he declared with the utmost confidence that shook the Ancestors.

"That's right." Davis chuckled.

His reaction caused even the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan to gawk at him but then saw him continuing.

"But I assure you everyone will be pardoned for their wrongdoings except the Fire Phoenix Clan and the Cyan Soul Rat Clan. After all, killing people is not only tiresome but opposed to my nature as I prefer being left alone with my family more than anything."

He shook his head, "I really don't want to weigh myself with the burden of killing those who have nothing to do with me but have plenty to do with you people since your presence is practically allowing them to progress and unwind as they please, not to mention, enjoy various benefits while they bully people below them, just like you all are doing now."

His pitying voice fell like arrows to their conscience as they knew that their descendants weren't without sins. After all, who would not like to enjoy power? But there was still a minority among them who led respectable lives.

How can they be targeted?

"Wrongdoings? Don't be delusional." Silently roared one Ancestor.

"Those who have nothing to do with you!?" That female Ancestor screamed out, "Don't lie when you massacred a few cities of the Fire Phoenix Clan."

"When you see an evil being, you kill it before it can cause any kind of damage. That is righteous and just!"

Another Ancestor profoundly spoke, and everyone couldn't help but nod.

This was always what the world was like. Eliminate any threats before they could harm them or anyone else.

Why would they like to see the chance of it growing and harming them when they could weed it out at its earliest?

Was he their family? No, it was a random stranger that they gave no damn about, especially when their future was at stake.

Superstition was rampant. If killing an Anarchic Divergent bestows them with karmic virtue, then wouldn't leave that Anarchic Divergent alone when they had a chance to kill him bestow them with karmic sin?

Moreover, they didn't want to see their hard-earned karmic luck for their power go down the drain. After all, once they reached the top, they could sense that everything was clad in obscurity and connected to the karmic nature of myriad beings that they had no choice but to believe in it and take an overall outlook of the future instead of just relying on pure power.

Even Third Ancestor Riyard made a complex expression, knowing what they said was right.

They would never have made a decision to protect the Emperor of Death if it weren't for the Starlight Jade Wolf King, who was swept by his emotions. Nonetheless, he mused that they were already too deep in it to go back.

"That's right!" That female Ancestor waved her hand, adding, "The heavens deny your entire existence. Davis made a confused expression on his face, wondering who the hell was this woman who was seriously passionate about eradicating him. Did she truly believe that he was evil in her heart?

"The only parent complex I have is my need to be acknowledged by my father and mother, not the heavens like you miserable people."

Davis snickered, "Well, whatever. I've said what I had to say. If anyone is left when the barrier breaks, don't blame me for hunting your family down. After all, I've exiled myself from the Aurora Cloud Gate, allowing me to be wicked as I please."

He grinned, turning to look at Patriarch Killian Zenflame.

"What!?"

The Starlight Jade Wolf Clan was shocked. He really did what he said he was going to do?"

At the same time, the other Ancestors were brimming with disbelief.

They had this last layer of defense that the Aurora Cloud Gate wouldn't let the Emperor of Death do something despicable as going after their family, but now that he had exiled himself, would they still bother to do anything?

"Ahaha! You've exiled yourself?"

Patriarch Killian Zenflame looked at Davis like he was looking at a fool, "What a sumptuous turn of events. With that, no one has to be wary of the Aurora Cloud Gate anymore."

He still couldn't forget how the Void Dust Empress was boldly at the heart of the Fire Phoenix Clan despite all the formations locking onto her. That struck fear in his heart more than this Anarchic Divergent over here who was still easily killable or sealed.

Davis's smile didn't recede as he pointed his scythe at him, "Alright, I guess you've lived long enough."

"Quick! Break the barrier!"

Patriarch Killian Zenflame urged with an excited smile on his face as though victory was right in his grasp.

"Sigh. Child, do you really have to take that far?"

But suddenly, an old sigh caused Davis to stop right in his tracks as he shivered ever so lightly under this sudden pressure.

"You are…?" He turned to look at a white-robed old man.

Davis could feel the immense power brimming from this immortal.

He could sense that the other party was most likely a Level Five Immortal Emperor, but his prowess could very well exceed the grade of the sealing formation itself!

This person had yet to attack, causing Davis to inwardly know that he was screwed if this person chose to attack at this moment!
